Oh, Here we go…

The Telegraph report here that The Bishop of Carlisle has explained away the terrible floods the country has seen over the last weeks as God’s wrath over all the bad things we’ve been doing over recent years.

That’s nice to know, isn’t it?

I was particularly impressed with this little gem:

“The sexual orientation regulations [which give greater rights to gays] are part of a general scene of permissiveness. We are in a situation where we are liable for God’s judgment, which is intended to call us to repentance.”

Right. So because we are tolerating homosexuality now, we’re all being punished by God whether we believe in Him or not then? That’s hardly fair, is it?

The way I see it, even if we stopped tolerating homosexuality in one fell swoop, people would still get flooded. And beaten, and murdered, and starved and everything that goes on in the world now.

Absolutely ridiculous.

It is crazed. He says the floods are punishment for treating the developing world so badly – but things like tghe Tsunami largely affected the developing world – what had they done wrong?

Things like this make me glad that I’m an atheist. Ther phrase “People no longer see natural disasters as an act of God,” does fill me with some hope for the human race though.

ah yes, bishop dow…he would be the one who also thinks that people who repeatedly wear black or always purchase a black car may be possessed by evil spirits

so: wearing black = not chic, but plain evil

    marvellous

Perhaps we ought to build an ark?
